I'm so thankful I found my new friends at the shelter. I've been running as a stray for quite some time, I can't tell them just how long. I arrived end of September with a severe environmental allergic reaction. I wasn't feeling good at all. Through all of the treatment and being in pain, I made sure to continue to show them how loving I am. They gave me a new name that I am very proud of. They are calling me Serenity. I am about 5-7 years old. I have proven to be a calm and gentle lady. I will require a more in-depth treatment during the first few months of my adoption. My new friends are giving me medicine to stop my allergies and heal my skin. They say it doesnât cost too much. I hope you will take me to your veterinarian so we can find a plan to keep me from getting sick like this again! I know there are friends who will help me. I have a few lumps and bumps that may need to be removed. I also have ear infections currently and can't hear wonderfully. My people at Michiana aren't sure yet if it is a hearing deficit or if it is secondary to all of the inflammation in my ears. Nothing has been confirmed yet but they are keeping a close eye on every detail of me and will make sure to update you! Please don't let any of this deter you. It sure doesn't deter me from loving people. I am extremely well-behaved during my exams. I know my friends are here to help me. I love laying on doggie beds. I'm so docile and calm. I really enjoy being around other dogs. I light up and become "happier" when I am near them. I've done well around larger dogs and smaller dogs. I still haven't been around too many cats so am unsure about them. The better and better I feel, the more my new friends continue to learn about me. One thing for sure, is that I am so excited to have the chance to find a home that will love me the way I will love them. Please continue to check back for new updates on me. In the meantime, come on by and visit! I'd love to be your new best friend.
