The HomeAgain chip is designed to increase the chance of reuniting you with your lost pet.
We offer this service to the public during our normal business hours. Please call the shelter and set up an appointment. The installation fee is 25.00 and there is a one time activation fee of 15.00. Most pet owners do not expect to lose their pet, and when it happens, it can be very stressful for you and your pet. Microchipping is a solution to that problem.

We carry a wonderful variety of supplies to make your new pet feel at home. Find everything to care for your pet including food, leashes, collars, food dishes, toys, shampoos, and much more. Please look over our selection before you buy elsewhere. Your purchases support the care of all the animals at the MHS. All our pricing is reasonable. You will receive a 20 % discount within one month of adoption.

Humane Education

The Michiana Humane Society is vigilant to promote and extend the special connection of the human/animal bond. Programs are designed to meet the needs of classrooms or clubs whether on or off site. Call in advance to schedule an appointment or visit. Shelter tours are also available upon request.

Emergency Boarding

The Michiana Humane Society is one of the few shelters in the midwest to offer emergency boarding services to pets whose owners are in emergency housing care. A social service referral is required. Care for the pet is allowed up to 30 days at no cost.

Euthanasia

The Michiana Humane Society provides a low cost euthanasia service offered to individuals whose pets have reached that inevitable time where quality of life is no longer achieved.

Disposal of remains through our cremation service is also available for a nominal extra charge.
